Finding My Stuff:
In Press: As part of my plan for taking over the world, the coming months will bring reprints of "Bugjuice" in InterNova (an English language magazine out of Germany with an International Flair), Dramaturges of Yann (Greek), Dragão Quântico (Portuguese), and Sable (Spanish). Also coming up is the Finnish translation of "Buffalo Dogs" in Spin.
December 2005: My story "Stations of the Cheeseburger" can be found in a new anthology with the mysterious title of TEL: Stories, edited by Jay Lake.
Also I've just received the latest issue of a Spin, the premiere SF zine in Finland, which contains a reprint of my story "Whale Song."
September 2005: Every now and then I try my hand at a style piece. The latest effort came out in the Mechanical Oddities issue of Lenox Avenue and is entitled "The Epistemology of Bread." If you've ever wanted to see life from the point of view of a four slice toaster, this will be your chance.
August 2005: I don't write a lot of dark fantasy, so I'm especially pleased to see "The Game Of Leaf And Smile" appearing in the digital pages of AEON Magazine.
July 2005: I returned to the pages of Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine with "Sweet Potato Pie". That's in issue #18.
June 2005: Utterly ignoring its cover date, the September issue of Analog came out, complete with a quirky little tale entitled "Take Me To Your Liederkranz" by yours truly.
April 2005: My very first electronic book! Aliens and AIs: A Collection is out from Jintsu Etexts, a division of Eggplant Literary Productions. The collection will include four previously published short stories, and three brand new ones (including the long awaited Amazing Conroy story, "The Matter At Hand"). It's a heck of a deal for only three dollars and fifty cents.
March 2005: I'm very happy to report that a new issue of Absolute Magnitude shipped on March 8th. I'm even happier that the issue contains the long awaited story of Conroy's origin (i.e., how he got to be so Amazing!). "Requiem" reveals how Conroy ended his education in xeno-religious studies and became a stage hypnotist. Also
out this month is the premiere issue of Apex Digest, which includes
an early story of mine entitled "The Conservation of Thelos."
A warning is needed as this tale is very unlike my usual writing (which
explains why it took so long to find an editor willing to take a chance
on it), and explores both mental and physical violence. Definitely not
a bedtime story for children. |
